This abstract work explores the breaking of traditional photography and art conventions. Turner wanted to push the solid white line up through the middle of the frame, against the grain of conventional photography. In this work, it gives it its dynamics. Turner has always been fascinated with shapes and colour, so the focus in this work is not on the scene itself, but on the abstract and decontextualised arrangement of shapes and colours in their raw and free, spectacular form.
